Our story

Medusa makes womenswear in small runs, in natural fibres, from one atelier in Paris.

We make between forty and two hundred of a piece. That number is not a marketing decision — it is what one atelier can cut properly in the time we give it, in the cloth we were able to buy.

The fabric comes first

Most of what we work with is deadstock or short-run: linen from a mill in northern Portugal, silk-cotton woven in small lots outside Como. We buy what exists rather than commissioning thousands of metres, which means the quantity of a piece is settled before the pattern is.

The consequence is that things sell out and do not come back.

What we do not do

• No seasonal markdown cycle.
• No pricing high in September so it can be discounted in November.
• No restocking a piece that has had its run.

When something is reduced, it is because the run is ending.
