Layering for shoulder-season runs
KairoLabs Team · Jul 30, 2026
The shoulder-season problem: it is 8°C when you leave and feels like 18°C ten minutes later. The fix is not one perfect jacket — it is two light layers you can actually run in.
Start with a tee that moves moisture: our workout shirt is a cotton-touch knit with enough polyester in the blend to dry mid-run, not after it.
Over that, the half-zip. The collar zips high against the wind on the way out; the zip drops the moment you warm up. It is cut trim through the body so it will not balloon at pace, with a dropped hem that stays put.
Below 5°C, swap the half-zip for the light puffer on the walk to the start and tie it off once you are moving. Above 15°C, skip the second layer and trust the first kilometre to feel cold — it is supposed to.
